New security features were added to your APCO online banking account recently.

The changes involve Multi-Factor Authentication, or MFA. Our security team implemented a new set of MFA security questions to better protect your online account.

 

Why The Change?

Your Credit Union’s number one priority is providing you with the best financial services partnered with the best security. The recent security upgrade is part of our continuing effort to keep your confidential information safe and secure.

 

What You Need To Do

The next time you login to your online banking account, you will be required to do two things:

1) Select three new security questions from the provided drop-down list. Simply select three new questions and provide answers, just as you did the first time you set up your online banking account.

2) Select a new image and passphrase.

Once you complete these two steps, future logins will proceed as normal.

1) If you encounter any errors during this process, our technicians recommend you clear all session cookies from your device. Not doing this could cause older site cookies to be used, which could generate some misleading displays or errors.

The year 2014 was another outstanding year for your Credit Union on a number of levels. The year started with a bang in February when the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) notified us that our Credit Union was being recognized as the best credit union in the nation with regards to member benefits. CUNA presented APCO Employees Credit Union with the “2013 Member Benefits Top Performance Award” at its national conference held in Washington, DC. While we have won some state awards in the past, this was the first national award our Credit Union had received in its 60 year history. While providing value to our members will always be our focus, it was nice to be nationally recognized for being the best at what we do.

As far as the financial results of the Credit Union in 2014, I am almost running out of superlatives to describe how well APCO has performed. While the Credit Union continued to grow and pay excellent dividends in 2014, the bottom line by any financial measure is Net Income – what you have left after subtracting your expenses. The Credit Union’s Net Income for 2014 was almost $20 million, a 24% increase over a solid financial performance in 2013.

APCO members also continued to respond positively to our loan products during the year. Whether it was a personal loan, an auto loan, or a home mortgage, Credit Union loans grew by more than $100 million in 2014. This was the second year in a row that our loans grew by more than $100 million, giving us a two year loan growth rate of over 45%. As you review the Credit Union’s financial statements for 2014, you are welcome to choose your own superlative for our financial performance. I’ll just say that 2014 was a fantastic year for your Credit Union.

In addition to the national award and record setting financial performance, you may have noticed that we have continued to modernize and bring our Credit Union forward as quickly as possible to better serve our members. In 2014, we began keeping all branch offices open at lunch, we expanded our ATM network to 45 machines around the state, and we introduced APCO Investment Services which allows members to purchase stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. Our APCO Investment Services group has already helped hundreds of APCO members with sound financial advice, investment services, and retirement planning.

I would like to thank our Members, our Volunteers, and our Staff for another successful year for our Credit Union in 2014. We have a bright future together.
